Located right in the city centre, Tours railway station is undergoing a number of major refurbishments. As part of the project, our client, the SNCF, wishes to replace ageing wooden tracks with new concrete ones and bring the platforms into line with accessibility standards for people with reduced mobility.

As part of the RAVI contract led by SNCF Réseau, ETF teams are hard at work at Nancy station on a major rail infrastructure regeneration project. This strategic project is helping to modernise this key station on the Grand Est rail network in a sustainable way.

From the beginning of June until the end of the summer, ETF teams have been working in Sarreguemines (Moselle) to replace four sets of points and renew 14 kilometres of track. This strategic project is designed to improve the reliability of services, passenger comfort and the long-term viability of this line, which is vital to the region.

Having been involved in the project since the tender phase in 2020, ETF is participating in the design and construction of the Grand Paris Express Line 15 West-South. Led by the IntenCités15 consortium, which comprises 19 companies, this major project will help to bring about a lasting transformation of transport in the Île-de-France region by linking Pont de Sèvres to La Défense.

In Donchery, in the Ardennes, teams from ETF and Cardem recently pooled their expertise to carry out a major project aimed at bringing the railway track levelling back into compliance. Organised around two successive intensive phases, this project illustrates how VINCI Construction’s complementary areas of expertise contribute to the modernisation and long-term sustainability of the national rail network.

From May to the end of June 2026, ETF (Normandy Division) carried out a project for SNCF Réseau to renew the track, ballast and points at Serquigny station (Normandy). Carried out over seven weeks by around twenty staff members, this operation helped to enhance the reliability and longevity of the French rail network. This project illustrates the long-standing relationship of trust between ETF and SNCF Réseau, as well as their ability to work together on major projects aimed at modernising the network.

ETF teams are currently working between Bernay (27) and Caen (14) to replace 53.73 kilometres of track on the Paris–Caen–Cherbourg line. On 1 July, this industrialised rail renewal (RRI) project welcomed Matthieu Chabanel, Chief Executive of SNCF Réseau, accompanied by local elected representatives and regional officials.

Because careers in the rail sector are best discovered on the job, ETF has formed a partnership with the IUT in Charleville-Mézières to support students as they explore the sector and to help them enter the workforce. This collaboration offers students on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at real-life railway construction sites through site visits, work placements and work-study schemes.

For several years now, VINCI Construction has been a partner of the Cancer@Work charity, which works alongside businesses to promote the inclusion of people living with long-term illnesses. This initiative aims to support their return to work and encourage them to remain in a suitable and supportive working environment.

The AFSB project (Railway Development South of Bordeaux) is continuing to make progress as part of the future New South-West Line (LNSO). Over the Ascension weekend, a new milestone was reached thanks to the efforts of the ETF / INEO SCLE Ferroviaire consortium, which carried out the project’s fourth major phase of works between Cadaujac and Saint-Médard-d’Eyrans.

ETF is continuing its sponsorship of the Forézien wheelchair basketball club for the next two seasons. Through this partnership, ETF reaffirms its commitment to inclusion and highlights inspiring stories, such as that of Pierre, a member of the catenary design team and a keen athlete competing at national level.
